How to make it
1.In a mortar and pestle grind the cloves, cardamoms and cinnamon to a coarse powder.
2.Bring the water to a boil, add in the sugar and the spice powder. Allow it to simmer for 1 minute.
- Drop in the leaves , cover and let it brew for 2 minutes.
- While it brews add a spoon of warm water to the saffron strands and using the mortar & pestle make a smooth paste till the saffron strands dissolve and you get a beautiful orange liquid.
- After 2 minutes of brewing add the saffron to the tea.
- Strain and pour into warm tea cups( I pour some warm water into the cups to heat them). Garnish with almond shavings and serve immediately!
